Say goodbye to itchy reactions. Skin Defender creates a thin, discreet shield between your skin and sensor adhesives, keeping you protected and comfortable. Reusable for every application.
😌 Prevents Allergic Reactions: Creates a thin non-adhesive layer between your sensor and skin so that you have no more allergic outbreaks or itchy skin.
♻️ Reusable: Use the same Skin Defender again and again on each new sensor application.
🥷 Thin + Discreet: So thin you won't even know it is there. Plus it stays hidden under your device.
How to Use
Step 1: Prep skin. Be sure it is clean and dry.
Step 2: Apply a medical grade liquid adhesive, such as Skin Tac, onto skin and wait 30 seconds to dry.
Step 3: Remove adhesive backing from infusion set.
Step 4: Line up Skin Defender with infusion set, textured side facing the cannula, and press it to the cannula when center hole is lined up.
Step 5: Apply infusion set to prepared site on skin.
Step 6: Place Skin Grip patch over infusion set.
*Although our testers reported greatly reduced and even eliminated irritation, this is an improvised solution and not medically approved; we offer no guarantees.
*These patches are reusable and can be removed with adhesive remover, washed with soap and water, and used again.

I've ordered patches for Freestyle Libre 3 but the actual order was much smaller and didn't have the sticky foundation as was shown in the video instructions
1. Did you deliver wrong order?
2. If not, how to apply patch shown in the image on the skin? How to stick it?
These skin grips have been a game changer in the use of my CGM! It takes a minute to get the hang of it but one you learn how to do it works like a dream at preventing skin irritation!
I really wanted these to work but I was skeptical that just wiping adhesive to my skin and then applying the guard would actually stick. I put the over patch on, but then I’m still using an adhesive so?? The nude over patches stretch, especially on a butt site since you’re flexing that skin a lot, so because the guard isn’t actually stuck to the skin it pushed up from underneath my over patch and was only hanging on by the cannula. I didn’t get a picture before taking off the over patch but this is what it looked like anyway since it pushed the patch off. I used a clear patch now since my pod still has 2.5 days left, that should work better since it’s not as stretchy. I’m bummed I spent the money on these and the adhesive wipes.
Best allergy product I've tried in two years! Allergies completely disappeared (I have been using it for several months already). Unfortunately, I'm also allergic to the wipes with glue that the site recommends for application, but by applying another patch over the sensor, everything stays in place for 14 days. I'm very happy!
The pic is before & after using the SkinGrip underlay. Words can't express how happy I am with the SkinGrip underlays. I tried so many different brands before this one, with no success. My son's skin was burning under his Dexcom. He would cry from the stinging & we would have to change his Dexcom prior to the full 10 days, due to the pain. With the SkinGrip underlay, it stayed in for the full 10 days with no burning, stinging, or redness! I will be a lifelong customer!!!
The barrier did not stick to the skin when applied as directed and caused the sensor not to stick. We are not able to use these and wasted a sensor attempting to use. I hope you find a process/material that works, really want some kind of barrier for my daughter’s skin.
After some initial user error, skin tac held these in place long enough for me to put my site on and cover it in over tape. I recommend trying it for the first time somewhere you can easily see. They did keep me from having another allergic reaction to my site tape.
I gave this a try since I have had reactions to the aggressive Medtronic uses on the sensor, but I had a really hard time making sure the sensor stayed on while I applied the overtape. Maybe I’ll get there with experience
I messed up my meter and thought I think the item is a good idea didn’t work for me. I’m too new I guess and won’t order again as I’m too new at this. If it can be donated let me know
Its hard for me to accurately rate this product as it does what its suppose to do but i have a very difficult time trying to line it up properly and have actually never gotten the needle to line up with the hole yet... I think the more i use it the better ill get at it
They're OK. Twice they've made it difficult for the sensor to be deployed. I had to requst a new one the first time it happened. They're supposed to be reusable, but I'm having trouble seeing how theyd' be used long term. The sensor adheres to it quite well. It's a bit difficult to remove. Also, a residue is left that's a little hard to remove.
They do what is promised though. They do make removing the sensor quite easy. I don't particulary like having to use skin tac to stick them, but it's better than having to pry the sensor off later.
Would I buy these again? I'm not sure. I'll keep trying them. Maybe my opinion will change.
Really good idea but wish I could get more uses out of it. Works well but when you change sensor the sticky part remains on the defender which make it hard for 2 or more uses. But then again this is my first time with it, maybe doing something wrong.
I had high hopes for the barriers for the first three sensors. I seemed to have considereably less irritation than with the sensor adhesive alone. However, I think the Skin Tac adhesive that I used started to fail after about 7 days causing the sensor to loosen from my skin. It was held on only by the Skin Grip patch. The most recent cycle did not make it the full 10 days and the sensor unfortunately failed. Maybe there is a stronger adhesive available but then it will likely cause the irritation.
Love these!
They really help with the skin adhesive reaction to the Dexcom, Libre and tandem pump.
I was however expecting the material to not be so flimsy. When it says it is made of silicone, I was expecting a nice thick barrier I can use again & again.
It's quite a hassle to peel the flimsy films off of the Dexcom sensor, peel all the adhesive off, clean the barrier, wash all of the skin tac remover off really well then reuse.
I have had one sensor that didn't stay on my skin vey well when I reused one of these skin barrier patches and it came completely off my skin 5 days into a sensor session, even wfh using skin tac and an overlay patch.
I'm going to keep buying them because I don't see an alternative on the web for buying a sturdier brand, and I don't care to keep spending money on Hydrocolloid bandages, but hopefully Skingrip will increase the sturdiness of these reusable skin barriers, soon.
It helps but the G7 has a hard time staying adhered to my skin with just the ring of adhesive holding it while I'm trying to put the over patch on it. I can use my fingers to try and make sure the sensor stays put. And yes, I am using a liberal wiping of the area with the SkinTac prior to putting the sensor on.
I have mCAS and was hoping this would help, but it does absolutely nothing. When I did an allergy test I tried it with a SkinGrip patch and both came off easily. I don't know if it's because of Ehlers Danlos and my skin being too soft, but I was hoping with a cgm they might have a better chance staying on. My cgm wouldn't even stick, just wasted a hundred dollar cgm because this grip does nothing. I watched the videos on read instructions and everything. Also, the patches start to curl and come off faster than Welly bandaids. For something meant to stay in place for the 3wks of a cgm, they shouldn't come off sooner than a simple band aid.
